The key is to look for hardware RAID - nearly every hardware RAID is VMware supported.
Your motherboard may imply that it has a built in hardware RAID chip, but it's more of a "hardware managed software RAID", if that makes sense. If it was hardware RAID, you'd know it, because it wouldn't be "Windows only".
